Jerome M. Kane, M.D.

Jerome M. Kane, M.D. is a board certified neurologist with 27 years of experience in practice. Dr. Kane is married with two children and enjoys a round of golf whenever he is not catching up on rounds at the hospital. Dr. Kane attended Medical School at Tulane University in New Orleans and completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas, TX. Dr. Kane also completed a Neurophysiology fellowship at the UT Health Science Center and is currently the director of the Rehabilitation Facility at North Hills Hospital.

 
James M. Barry, M.D.

James M. Barry, Jr., M.D. is a board certified neurologist with 27 years experience practicing medicine. He is married with three kids and likes to play golf when he is not seeing patients. Dr. Barry went to Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX.

 
Srirekha Maddukuri, M.D.

Srirekha Maddukuri, M.D. is ABPN Board Certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Maddukuri attended the University of Health Sciences in Andhra Pradesh, India. Her Internal Medicine residency was at Mount Vernon Hospital in New York. She completed a neurological residency at Tufts University, Boston, MA. Dr. Maddukuri has particular interest in peripheral neuropathies and of course Sleep Medicine.

 
Sharique Ansari, M.D.

Sharique Ansari, M.D. is ABPN Board Certified in Neurology. He has a Master's in Public Health.

Dr. Ansari holds a BS from the University of Michigan. He attended Medical School at the University of Saint Eustatius School of Medicine. His Neurology residency was at the University of Nebraska/Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. He completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology in Neuromuscular/EMG at Wayne State University – Detroit Medical Center, and was Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of South Dakota.

Dr. Ansari's primary clinical interests are neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine.


Our Nurse Practitioners

Susan Imke, F.N.P.

Susan Imke holds ANCC certification as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and Texas licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has a BSN degree from the West Texas A&M University and a Master of Science degree from the University of North Texas. Mrs. Imke serves on the faculty of the National Parkinson Foundation’s Interdisciplinary Team Training Program and on the advisory board for the Parkinson Alliance in Princeton, NJ. Susan has authored numerous publications for families living with movement disorders and dementia. She is a well known speaker to audiences of health professionals as well as family caregivers on topics related to neurology of aging and living with chronic illness. Her primary clinical interests include Parkinson's disease, dementia, stroke, and chronic pain.

 
Dena Miller

Dena Miller holds American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification and Texas licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Lubbock Christian University and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Prior to joining the staff of Kane Hall Barry, Ms. Miller gained five years general neurology experience at Covenant Health System in Lubbock, Texas.  She is a member of the Texas Neurological Society.

Ms. Miller has particular interest in seeing migraine patients and patients with multiple sclerosis.

 
Deborah Stapel

Deborah Stapel holds American Academy of Nurse Practitioners certification and Texas licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of San Diego.

Prior to joining the staff of Kane Hall Barry, Ms. Stapel gained eleven years general neurology experience at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California. Ms. Stapel recently gained experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator lecturing throughout southern Florida on psychiatric disease states and pharmacology.

Her primary clinical interests include headache, multiple sclerosis, sleep disorders, Parkinson's disease and the use of Deep Brain Stimulation for movement disorders.


Our Neuropsychologist

Andrew Houtz, Ph.D.

Dr. Andrew Houtz is a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Florida, he holds a Master of Science degree and a PhD from the University of North Texas, where he was subsequently an Adjunct Professor of Psychology. He was also Chief Neuropsychologist at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for fourteen years.

Dr. Houtz is a founding member and past President of the Fort Worth Neuropsychological Society. He has published several research papers in the Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology and other professional journals, and has developed unique neuropsychology testing tools and protocols.

His primary clinical interest is cognitive remediation and rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury patients.
